Happy Opening Day 2011 to all the baseball fans out there.
You always get a special kick on opening day, no matter how many you go through. You look forward to it like a birthday party when you’re a kid. You think something wonderful is going to happen – Joe DiMaggio
When you’re in a slump, it’s almost as if you look out at the field and it’s one big glove – Vance Law
This is a response/reaction I received fueled by the news that Matt Painter may or may not be taking the Missouri head coaching job.
So I guess Matt Painter had a couple revelations after getting blown out by VCU, seeing Butler make the Final 4 for the second straight year, and then looking up at the big wall Tom Crean built around the state of Indiana. He realized that Purdue stinks (both literally and figuratively) and that he’ll be stuck with the scraps from the Indiana recruiting scene so now he wants to run away to Mizzou where he can spend the rest of his days taking baths with scented candles and watching Pretty Woman on repeat. This makes me laugh.
Spot on analysis, friend.
Hearing reports that Manchester United will travel to the states to play the Chicago Fire at Soldier Field on July 23rd.
This is great news for all the soccer fans of the Windy City since they can not only all fit comfortably in the first row at Soldier, but they will also get to see an actual professional soccer team.
The Soldier Field ticket sales department expressed their gratitude for the mid-summer event, saying they hoped to sell “tens to hundreds of tickets.”
Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half is physical – Yogi Berra
Funny and surprising. That is all I’ll say – Matt Painter is leaving his post at Purdue for the same position at Missouri. 7 years, 14 million.
My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging – Hank Aaron
