It really makes an alum confident in his team, one that hasn’t been to the Big Dance since 2008 mind you, when bettors were lined up outside Vegas sports-book casinos on Sunday night, eager to place their bets on New Mexico State and the points as soon as doors opened.
According to the Reno Gazette Journal , New Mexico State has been the most popular underdog bet placed in Las Vegas thus far. In fact, so much of the money has been placed on the Aggies that the original line of +7.5 has moved all the way down to just +6. Lovely.
It seems apparent many are taking the advice of ESPN’s Doug Gottlieb. Gottlieb is the genius that pointed out that Portland, Oregon’s Rose Garden Arena is not in Bloomington, Indiana. I may be going out on a real limb here, but I’m going to guess that Gottlieb really stole the show in 5th grade Geography class. If anyone in class was ever confused by the location of cities thousands of miles apart, Doug was, and still is, the go-to guy.
By the way, Indiana is 2-1 on neutral courts this season, Doug. Just saying is all…
