Former overall #1 pick in the 2004 draft, Matt Bush, has been charged with yet another DUI. Bush, who had reportedly turned his life around after a near death experience with alcohol in 2009, has now lost the opportunity to ever play in the Major Leagues after being drafted almost 8 years ago.
Bush was arrested early Thursday morning, on charges that included DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident. Besides dealing with his second arrest in only three years, Bush now has to face the reality that his MLB dreams are hanging on by a thread – and barely. It’s going to take a lot of trust for another MLB team to come into play and offer Bush a contract with all things considered.
Oh, and if that wasn’t all bad enough, Yahoo! National Columnist, Jeff Passan, is reporting Bush had just 2,000 dollars left in his bank account when he was arrested.
Talk about rock bottom, Matt.
