I’ve decided I’m going to make things interesting for myself – and the seven of you. I’m going to place a wager on a MINIMUM of 5 Major League Baseball games per day, for the rest of the regular season.
I started this off yesterday with a post with three predictions for yesterday’s slate of afternoon games. Being the brilliant gambling man that I am, my experiment was quickly off to a 0-3 record/start.
Luckily, Roy Halladay and Chad Billingsley had my back, and both the Phillies and Dodgers covered last night. That raised my overall record to a shiny 2-3. I was able to pick 3 (Reds, Dodgers, Phillies) of the winners, but Cincinnati failed to cover, winning 4-3 on Chris Heisey walk-off single.
Here it is. Taking a stab at a full slate of afternoon games.
Giants (Bumgarner) @ Rockies (J. Moyer)
Pick: Giants -1.5
Bumgarner shakes off rough first outing, returns to form to tame Rockies’ bats
Mariners (Vargas) @ Rangers (Holland)
Pick: Rangers -1.5
Rangers’ bats wake up for revenge on last night’s loss
More picks coming later on for the nightcap. Check back!
