MLB Notes, May 6th

Do I even need a reason?

The Mets’ Matt Harvey leads the majors with hitters batting just .156 against him in 6 starts

Although he has just 27 strikeouts recorded on the season, the Nationals’ Jordan Zimmerman leads the majors in WHIP at just 0.75

The Padres’ Jedd Gyorko leads all MLB rookies with 30 hits this season. (11 of 30 are extra base hits)

The Cardinals‘ rookie, Shelby Miller, has allowed just 8 earned runs in 36 2/3 innings pitched this season

Dodgers rookie, Hyun-Jin Ryu, has 10 more strikeouts (48) than any other MLB rookie.

Even with 46 K’s on the young season, Red Sox Mike Napoli leads the majors with 15 doubles, carrying a .268 avg

The Reds’ Joey Votto leads the league in free passes this season, earning 29 – 5 more than second place.

The Orioles’ Nate McLouth, who apparently is still alive, is batting .313 (thru 27 games) and has stolen 9 bases, getting caught just once.
